Moultrie
Technical College is a multiple campus institution of higher learning whose mission
as part of the Technical College System of Georgia is to provide a culture of
learning through occupational education, academic education, distance education,
business and industry training, and workforce development supporting the education
and economic advancement of Colquitt, Tift, Turner, and Worth counties. The college
fulfills its mission by providing accessible, quality education leading to associate
degrees, diplomas, technical certificates of credit, and programs to assist adults
in literacy education. At

The
Commercial Truck Driving technical certificate of credit is a sequence of courses
designed to prepare students for careers in commercial truck driving. The following
Commercial Truck Driving Courses are offered at the Tifton Campus:
Fundamentals of Commercial Truck Driving - CTD-101 Introduces
students to the trucking industry and provides an emphasis on safety that will
continue throughout the program::
federal and state regulations
records and forms
industrial relations
and other non-driving activities
Basic
Operation and Range Work - CTD-102 This
course focuses on familiarizing students with truck instruments and controls and
on performing basic maneuvers required to drive safely in a controlled environment
and on the Driving Range. Each student must receive at least twelve (12) hours
behind-the-wheel (BTW) instructional time in:
range operations- operating
a tractor trailer through clearance maneuvers
backing, turning, parallel parking
coupling & uncoupling. and any one of the following (5 hours)*
* Advanced Operations (CTD-103) Advanced
Operations focuses on developing driving skills under actual road conditions.
The classroom part of the course stresses following safe operating practices.
On the road, safe operating practices are integrated into the development of driving
skills:
each student must receive at least twelve (12) hours behind-the-wheel (BTW) instructional
time on the street/road
each student must have a minimum program total of (44) hours hours BTW instructional
time in any combination (with CTD 102) of range and street/road driving

Commercial Truck Driving Internship (CTD-104)
The internship takes the place of CTD 103- Advanced Operations. Working closely
with the school, a company provides the advanced training which focuses on developing
driving skills:
each student must receive at least twelve (12) hours behind-the-wheel (BTW) instructional
time on the street/road
each student must have a minimum program total of (44) hours BTW instructional
time in any combination (with CTD 102) or range and street/road driving.

Presentation The goal
of the faculty and staff of Moultrie Technical College is that every graduate
finds gainful employment
using the skills and abilities acquired during their course of study at MTC. While
we do not guarantee employment upon graduation, the Career Services staff will
exhaust every resource available in helping our students find work in their field
or a closely-related field. MTC students and graduates may register through the
Career Services office for ongoing assistance in locating career opportunities.
